As parents we want our children to be healthy and happy. Too often, our children are not eating the right foods, not getting enough exercise or even sleeping well. In our high paced, tech driven world it is more important than ever to really set our children on the right path to a healthy lifestyle. If we fail to do so, we are putting our kids immune support at risk which could result in a lifetime of health issues.
Fruits and vegetables
This is where healthy eating and nutrition start. When we give children fruits and vegetables throughout their diet, they will receive the vitamins and minerals that they need to grow big and strong and to fight off illnesses and diseases.
Sleep is very important when you are a child, as well as an adult, and needs to be increased in children. It is a good idea to have your children to go sleep earlier than later. Turn off their cell phones, computers, tablets and other distractions. When designing their bedroom you want to remove any distractions that may interfere with their sleep. You will also want to create a sleep schedule that they follow even on the weekends and summer vacation.
Exercise as a family
The best way to encourage exercise is for you to get up and do it as well. Telling your children that they need to get up off the computer and go for a walk is a shallow request if you don’t back it up with your actions as well. Spend time as a family going for a walk after dinner or even before getting ready for school.
